Avocado. Hard as a rock for months, ripe for a day or two, and beautifully green as long as you don’t blink. But man, oh, man, does it make the perfect topping on any salad, burger, or tortilla chip. And don’t get me started on Bacon.
Talk about the perfect side, topping, or stand-alone snack. Bacon is good with everything. So I had a thought; what if I took BOTH of my favorite add-on’s and made them their own harmonious, stand-alone appetizer?
So, without any further ado I present my OH so yummy Bacon-Wrapped-Avocado Slices.
I used my Air Fryer (my mom got me one for Christmas and I can’t get enough of it) to crisp up the bacon. I love it because it cuts my cooking time in half. It’s an easy-in-easy-out, super-clean frying machine. I can “fry” foods with virtually no oil (if any at all). The super-heated air is circulated all around your food, giving you a quick, even cook. AND all that fat goes down through the perforated basket to the bottom of the non-stick pot, and away from your food. You can expect leaner, crispier bacon, in 5 minutes or less. And, because an Avocado has natural fats, it doesn’t get over-cooked in the process.
