I know many of you will be dying Easter Eggs this weekend, and I wanted to give you a very fun and frugal option. Dying Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid mix is so very easy I think I may never go back to those box kits again! Not only is it easy but it requires just water and Kool-Aid Mix! There’s citric acid in the mix so no need for vinegar.
2/3 cup water for each packet
Small bowl for each packet
I baked my eggs in silicone cupcake liners for 30 minutes on 350, then placed them in cool water to stop the cooking process. This is MUCH easier for me than boiling them in water because I never seem to be able to judge if the eggs are done that way. 🙂
Next you want to decided on your colors, and then place 2/3 warm cup water into each cup or bowl. Dye your eggs to your desired color. That’s it!
My boys had a great time experimenting with the different colors. The ‘grape’ ones do come out a little dark, and the yellow was a little light so we added a little orange to it.
And this week at Harris Teeter Kool-Aid Mix is just 10¢!
