I was scrounging around what to make for breakfast using cheese this morning, and I found some sausage tucked in the back of the fridge I had purchased when we had a coupon available to print. Immediately I thought Sausage Balls! I have always loved these ‘pop in your mouth’ bites of goodness. I’ve been following the Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle. So I’ve drastically cut out all the sugar and processed carbs in my diet and new I’d have to change up the recipe from the orginal which uses Bisquick.
I grabbed a bag of shredded cheddar, almond flour, Jimmy Dean Sausage Roll and baking powder and mixed away.
1 Sausage Roll ( I used Jimmy Dean All Natural Sausage)
1 1/4 Cup Almond Flour
1 1/2 cup Shredded Cheese
2 tsp Baking Powder
Mix all ingredients throughly and form into bite size balls. Space them out on a baking sheet (I prefer my Pampered Chef Bar Pan).
Cook on 350 for 18-20 minutes, or until browned and sizzling.
**If you follow Trim Healthy Mama this is an ‘S’ Meal, I had 4 with a Strawberry Protein Smoothie for breakfast.
