I often get lots of questions regarding competitor coupons and which ones are accepted at Harris Teeter. Using competitor coupons is just another way to maximize your savings at Harris Teeter. Hopefully this will answer your questions. First lets take a look at Harris Teeter’s Competitor Coupon Policy:

Harris Teeter ONLY accepts two types of competitor coupons:

#1 Competitor ‘Manufacturer’ Coupons for cents/money off: The key to spotting out these coupons is they must say ‘Manufacturer Coupon’ on the actual coupon.

• They will have a barcode and must be money off a certain product. (.75 cents off one box of Cheerios, $1.50 off Starbucks Coffee, etc). It is ok if the coupon has a Target, Walmart, Food Lion, Farm Fresh, Walgreens logo etc. but it must say manufacturer coupon.
• If the coupon says ‘store coupon’ you cannot use them at Harris Teeter.
• It can be printed from a coupon site, store site, etc.

Examples of accepted coupons:

**This also includes Walgreens Register Rewards as they are ‘Manufacturer Coupons’.
**This also includes printable coupons from coupons.com that have other store logos printed on the actual coupon. This is just an advertisement on where you can use the coupon. The key is that the coupon says ‘Manufacturer Coupon’

Examples of coupons NOT accepted:

(Specific item coupons form stores such as BJ’s, Publix, Rite Aid, CVS, etc.)

#2 Competitor Coupons :: Money of Total Order Coupons: These coupons are for money off the whole total order. ($10 off $50 purchase, etc.)

• These coupons CANNOT be printed from the internet (so those from a website or email cannot be used).
• They must be in paper form such as from a Catalina, Newspaper Flyer, Receipt, etc. This type of coupon is limited to one per day.
• You must meet the amount AFTER all other coupons and discounts. I am often asked if Harris Teeter will accept a competitor coupon from Farm Fresh, Dollar General, Target, Bi-lo, Food Lion, BJ’s, Publix, …and the answer is you’ll have to ask your store. Unfortunately each management team determines who they feel is their competitor. I have even found the answer to vary by which manager is even on duty. So my best advice is to take your coupon and ask before checkout so you are prepared.
• There is a limit of one per customer, per day.

 Examples of Accepted Coupons (FYI- only IF your store considers the following a competitor)

The coupon on the left is a $10 off $20 Purchase coupon from a flyer that came in the mail from Food Lion.The coupon on the right is a $5 off $25 coupon from Dollar General printed on the receipt.

Examples of Competitor Coupons that are NOT accepted:

This coupon cannot be used because it is money off a specific category (meat), and not off the total order.
