Looking for an easy Cubed Steak recipe?
Ya’ll dinner was rocking at our house tonight and I had to share! This week Cubed Steak is buy one get one FREE. I love that it is a cheap meat and can feed a crowd on a budget. I bought a ‘value pack’ at Harris Teeter that was a little under two pounds and cost me about $6. I know this is a ‘stretch’ from a real Philly Cheese Steak, but this was amazingly delicious and always a hit. Enjoy!
1 Value Pack Cubed Steak (buy one get one free this week)
1 Large Bell Pepper 59¢
1 Large Onion (3lb Bag 97¢ this week for e-VIC members)
1 8oz Cream Cheese (24¢ this week)
1 16oz Pack of Bacon (Hormel is buy one get one free this week)
Step One :: Thinly slice bell pepper onion and season your steak.
I seasoned the meat with ground garlic and salt.
Step Two :: Put a pat of cream cheese and veggies in your cubed steak.
Easy Peasy just lay a few slices of each inside.
Step Three :: Wrap your filled steak in bacon.
I started at one end and worked my way around. If you have some larger pieces you may need two (or even three!) to wrap the steak. If it feels loose you can secure each end with a toothpick if you like.
Step Five :: Lay them on a broiler pan.
That way all the fat and juices run down into the bottom. Bake on 400 for about 30-40 minutes.
Let your steaks rest a few minutes serving.
That’s it Enjoy!
