There are some Super Double rules in the ad that are highlighted. Thanks Ashley and Trisha in our Facebook Group for getting the conversation started yesterday. Yes there are some policy changes for Super Doubles. Some (in my opinion) are poorly written. We’ve had some conversations with some management and still don’t know what’s what. So we will have to wait for a formal clarification from corporate. Here is what is written and my two cents.. whatever that’s worth 😉 .
*VIC Card must be presented in order to receive Super Double Discount. (This has always been the rule, yes you may use your app, card on key ring, or phone number. Please remember ONE VIC card per household)
*Coupons must be in date. No expired coupons will be accepted. (Nothing new here)
*No rainchecks will be issued for coupon items which are out of stock on Super Double Day. (What I ‘think’ this MAY mean is if there is an item NOT in the ad that you are using a coupon on that is out of stock you won’t be able to get a raincheck. I still believe we WILL be able to get rainchecks on items in the ad. Those items are advertised as deals to be available to shoppers. To ensure your store HAS great stock on all the other items it is important to share our lists with managers so they know what to order OR after chatting with a few others it may mean that )
*Manufacturer Coupons will be doubled up to and including $2.00. Coupons over $2.00 will be honored at face value. (This means a $2.00 coupon will double, a coupon for example that is $2.25 will not)
* We accept only one coupon for buy one get one free items. (I’m not sure what this means. As this goes against their published policy that they accept one coupon per item purchased. A few years back we were only allowed one coupon on buy one get one free sales and it was in the policy. I’m not sure if this was just poorly written or the Once we have confirmation on what this means we will let you know. If this policy does mean only one coupon in a buy one get one free sale then ONLY buy one which will ring 1/2 price and use ONE coupon. You will STILL get the same price.)
*We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupons additional coupons for like items will be honored as face value.
*Total amount redeemed on a single item will be $4 or entire retails of the item, whichever is less. (This means if your items cost $3.28 and you have a $2 coupon it will double up to $1.28 for a value of $3.28, no overage is given.)
*Super double coupons applies to manufacturer coupons only. It does not apply to Harris Teeter in-store coupons. (This means deli discount stickers, the yellow ones for quick sale will NOT double.)
*No competitor coupons will be doubled. (HT only accepts money off total coupons, and they won’t double)
* Limit 20 coupons per household per day to be doubled. All other coupons will be redeemed at face value. (Please follow this policy, again only ONE VIC card per household.)
We’ll keep you updated. Join our group and share your thoughts!
