OH.MY.WORD. Stop what you’re doing and make these! Seriously, these were amazing! We recently took the kids to the fair and skipped the food because the lines were crazy long — but smelling all that fried goodness put me in the mood to make something fried and sweet. We threw these together tonight with the Harris Teeter Pizza Dough, which is only $1.00 this week, and the Luck’s Fruit (you can still grab them for 30¢ this week).
I drained the apples and dabbed them off with a paper towel and separated and rolled the dough into four pieces. I placed three to four apple slices on each dough piece and sprinkled liberally with cinnamon and sugar. I then folded over the dough and closed them with a fork.
I heated up the oil to medium heat and fried them for about a minute on each side until they were golden brown.
When they came out of the oil I sprinkled them again with sugar and cinnamon and served with some ice cream! Yum!
